Digital platforms/body-territory
My current research project is entitled “Platform body-territory politics: gendered geographies of Santiago de Chile’s digitalising borderlands” (SNSF 2025-27).
The project seeks to explore how everyday processes of digitalisation and datafication shape migrant women’s embodied experiences in Santiago de Chile, with a focus on the unequal politics of labour and homemaking.
Drawing on ethnographic work with Latin American migrant women in Santiago, it asks how datafication reshapes and becomes embedded in the intimacies of everyday life in South-South migration contexts, from the everyday experiences of domestic workers with on-demand work apps, to digital platforms’ extensions into the home unfolding within AI and smart urban transformations.
